Jon Aga has served as Executive Director of the Lakes Area United Way since September of 2021. A native of Nisswa and a Brainerd High School graduate, Jon understands from personal experience the caring power of the Lakes Area community. As a part of and in addition to leading the United Way, Jon is involved in a number of area initiatives promoting health, education, and financial stability in the Lakes Area and beyond. Jon serves on the Crow Wing Energized Steering Committee, the Brainerd Public Schools Equity Task Force, My Neighbor to Love Coalition Board, and the United Ways of Minnesota State Board.
Prior to joining the Lakes Area United Way, Jon served as Associate Director of Mental Health Services at Tasks Unlimited in Minneapolis, where he developed and lead a number of mental health, housing, and homeless outreach programs throughout the Twin Cities metro area. Jon has his Master’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities and his Bachelor’s degree from St. Olaf College and has held licensure as both a licensed school counselor and licensed professional clinical counselor.
