The Foster Grandparent Program engages persons over 55 in volunteer service as part of the Corporation for National & Community Service. Volunteers work to meet critical community needs, specifically to enable children with either exceptional or special needs to achieve improved physical, mental, emotional, and social development. The volunteers tutor and mentor children in communities at schools, shelters and head starts. Retirees age 60+ serving 15+ hours a week through the program receive a small tax-free stipend, meals and mileage reimbursement. Contact
