Impact - How We Work
United Way has been known for its role in supporting a large
network of nonprofit agencies. However, the problems facing
communities today demand a more strategic approach to charity,
and donors are asking for more accountability for their contributions.
- We pinpoint specific populations at most risk
- We build strategies that focus on root causes of problems,
not just symptoms
- We bring together agencies, government, foundation, and education
to collaborate on how we can maximize, not duplicate, efforts
- We track progress and report results back to donors
Why United Way?
We believe that no one agency working alone can
achieve as much as we can by working together. We can engage
civic problem solving and turn to corporations and foundations
for expertise, resources and volunteers. No other organization
is better positioned to lead this systematic change.
